THE FIELD & THE TABLE

Laborers in the Master's Field

Throughout Scripture, the world is pictured as the Master’s field, and the Lord of the harvest calls workers into that harvest. As the Apostle Paul writes, we are co-laborers in God’s field: one plants, another waters, but only God gives the growth.

Our calling as faithful laborers is to sow the truth, tend what has been planted, and trust the Master with the increase. Whether you are standing in a pulpit, planting a new work, or serving quietly behind the scenes, you are a laborer in the Master’s field.

Gathering at the Table

After working hard all day in the sun, farmhands come in from the field to sit down together. They kick off their boots, wash their hands, take a seat, and talk openly about how the day went, swapping stories and advice. The Farmhands' Table is built around that kind of conversation.

This podcast is not a seminary lecture. It’s a conversation over a cup of coffee, where no laborer has to serve alone. We talk through practical strategies, honest questions, and the everyday work and challenges of ministry—the field-tested wisdom you only learn from laboring in the harvest.

Whether you are just taking your first steps, leading a growing congregation, or have walked this road for decades, you have a place at this table. Pull up a chair and join the conversation.

WHAT WE TALK ABOUT

Conversations at the Table

Four practical areas we explore in our episodes, straight from the field:

1. Getting Started in Ministry

Every believer has been given spiritual gifts to serve the body of Christ, yet many sit on the sidelines simply because they are unsure how or where to begin. Whether you are young in your faith or have warmed a pew for decades, you have a vital part to play. We offer clear, real-world guidance to help you discover what God has entrusted to you and take your first faithful steps into active ministry.

2. Biblical Leadership

Moving a church forward requires more than good intentions—it demands sound strategy and intentional stewardship. We unpack the practical architecture of healthy ministry: establishing clear core values, aligning your people’s God-given strengths with the work, and stewarding church resources and finances with biblical wisdom. If you want to see passive attenders become engaged participants, this is where strategy meets faithful execution.

3. Planting & Sustaining Churches

Practical insights for planting new works and building momentum in established congregations. We share actionable strategies for breaking fresh ground, nurturing steady growth, and cultivating a healthy church community that lasts.

4. Q&A — For Those with Questions

Feeling stuck or facing a situation you haven't navigated before? Chances are, someone at the table has walked that same stretch of ground. Send us your question through our Contact page, and we might explore it together in an upcoming conversation.

Meet Shaun B. Wilson

Shaun has served in Christian ministry for more than 30 years. As a pastor’s kid, missionary’s kid, and third-generation minister, he grew up immersed in the local church and the global work of the Gospel.

Over the decades, Shaun has served as a children’s pastor, youth pastor, and leadership advisor to church boards. Holding a B.S. in Ministry Leadership from Lee University, he blends theological purpose with organizational strategy. Today, he serves as President of World Class Cities Ministries (WCCM) and as a Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach, equipping church planters, pastors, and ministry teams across denominations and continents to build healthy, flourishing churches.

On The Farmhands' Table, Shaun doesn’t host as an expert with all the answers, but as a fellow laborer pulling up a chair. As workers come in together from the harvest, he sits down over coffee to swap notes and discuss the honest, practical questions laborers carry in from the field.

Pray for the Work

Work in the harvest field requires prayer. Please pray for the laborers in the field, for pastors caring for their flocks, and for the Gospel to take deep root and bear lasting fruit around the world.

“To equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ.”
